Indigeneity, Language and Authenticity

Others have already spoken

Settler states advocate discussions to shut down legitimate decolonial protests.

Discussions provide a false sense of accomplishment in a setting where nothing ever truly gets done. In short, the negotiation table functions as a smoke screen to avoid having to actually do anything substantial of worth to indigenous communities, and as such it is a lethal weapon in the hands of settlers that seek to continue the colonisation and in the end destruction of the very places that define us as peoples.

Consequently successful acts of decolonisation demand actions that challenge the game rules of the settler discourse; we cannot allow ourselves to continue to be talked into silence in debates where our voices always play a minor role, when the very lives of our future generations depends on our continued resistance.
